How well does this actually work?
It extends the colours around your selection inwards. On a flat or smoothly shaded background - sky, a wall, a plain product backdrop - a text watermark disappears cleanly. Over busy texture such as grass, brickwork or a crowd, it leaves a visible smudge, because the algorithm cannot invent detail that was never captured.
Why is it not as good as paid AI removers?
Those run large inpainting neural networks on servers, which can generate plausible new texture. That needs hundreds of megabytes of model and a GPU, so it is not something a browser can do. This tool trades that quality for privacy, zero cost and no upload.
Any tips for a better result?
Cover the watermark completely, including a small margin around it - leftover edge pixels are the most common cause of a ghost outline. Work in several small strokes rather than one big blob. If the patch looks blurry, lower the blend radius; if it looks blotchy, raise it.
Can I remove an object rather than a watermark?
Yes, the mechanism is the same. Small objects against a simple background - a sign, a stray cable, a blemish - work well. Large objects, or anything in front of complex scenery, will not.
Why is there a limit of 3 images per minute?
It is a deliberate cap on this tool. Note that processing runs on your own device, so the limit is enforced in the page rather than on a server.
Is it legal to remove a watermark?
That depends entirely on the image and where you are. Watermarks usually mark ownership, and removing one from work you do not own or have no licence for is likely to infringe copyright. Use this on your own images, or where you have permission.
