Frequently asked questions

Should I choose PNG or JPG?

PNG for documents with text, diagrams, tables or line art - it is lossless, so edges stay sharp. JPG for pages that are mostly photographs, where it produces much smaller files at similar visible quality.

Why are the PNG files so large?

PNG is lossless, so nothing is discarded. A full-page render at high resolution can easily be several megabytes. Lower the resolution, or use JPG, if size matters more than perfect fidelity.

Do PNGs from a PDF have transparent backgrounds?

No. Pages are rendered on their own background, which is normally white. PNG supports transparency, but a PDF page is not transparent to begin with.

Can I convert only certain pages?

Yes. Enter a range such as 1-3, 5, 8-10, and use "n" for the last page. Leaving the field blank converts everything.

Why is conversion slow on long documents?

Every page has to be fully rendered, and it happens on your device rather than a server. Higher resolutions multiply the work. For a long document, try 144 DPI first.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Rendering happens entirely in your browser and nothing is transmitted or stored.
